Pennsylvania High School Football - Wilmington Area topples Grove City
September 19, 2009: New Wilmington, PA 16142 The Wilmington Area Greyhounds (New Wilmington, PA) football defeated the visiting Grove City Eagles (Grove City, PA), 34-14 in Saturday's non-league bout.
In their next game, the Greyhounds face the Oil City Oilers (Oil City, PA) in a District 10 Region 3 AA bout, on Friday, September 25. Wilmington Area will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record. The Oilers enter the bout with a 2-1 record after their 34-21 league loss to Sharon (Sharon, PA).
The Eagles (2-1) will now prepare for their bout against Franklin (Franklin, PA). The Knights enter the District 10 Region 5 AAA bout with a 0-3 record. In their last bout, Franklin was toppled by Strong Vincent (Erie, PA), 62-6, in a non-league bout.
