In Friday's non-league game, the Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) football team knocked off the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a final score of 43-20.

The Redhawks (7-5) will now prepare for their game against Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league game with a 11-1 record. In their last game, Charlotte Catholic toppled Morehead (Eden, NC), 42-7, in a non-league game.
