The Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) basketball felled the host Elkin Elks (Elkin, NC), 52-36 in Friday's league test.

The Huskies (9-14) will now prepare for their test against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Eagles go into the Mountain Valley 1A/2A test with a 14-8 record. In their last test, Wilkes Central thwarted Starmount (Boonville, NC), 61-47, in a league test.

The Elks now own a 0-21 record. They play next when they travel to Mount Airy for a non-league test on Monday, February 6. Elkin will encounter a Granite Bears squad coming off a 72-69 league win over Bishop McGuinness (Kernersville, NC). The Granite Bears record now stands at 16-5.
