Florida High School Baseball - St. Thomas Aquinas nudged by Bartow
March 12, 2011: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 The Bartow Yellow Jackets baseball team scored 4 runs and limited the host St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders to 3 in the Yellow Jackets non-league victory on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets (6-3) will now prepare for their match against Lake Region (Eagle Lake, FL). The Thunder go into the 5A District 6 match with a 1-8 record.
The Raiders (7-2) will now prepare for their match against Hollywood Hills (Hollywood, FL). The Spartans go into the non-league match with a 3-3 record.
Game Summary
The Raiders fall to Lakeland Bartow 4-3 in the Nova Titan Classic spring break tournament. Alec Byrd pitched his first complete game of the season. After a slow start in the first, Alec pitched five no hit shutout innings. The Raiders offense was led by Ryan Reyes, who played in his first game this season coming back from a back injury. Ryan went 2 for 4 with a RBI. Austin Barron went 2 for three with a RBI. The Raiders play Hollywood Hills on Monday, March 14 at 4:00 at Nova High School.
