North Carolina High School Basketball - Sun Valley tops Marvin Ridge

January 11, 2019: Waxhaw, NC 28173

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the host Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC), saw Sun Valley's basketball squad knock off Marvin Ridge by a count of 68-54.

With the victory, Sun Valley upgrades its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Spartans host West Stanly (Oakboro, NC) to play the Colts in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 17. The Colts come into the challenge with a record of 8-7. West Stanly won 63-19 in their recent league challenge against Central Academy of Technology and Arts (Monroe, NC)

Next up, the Mavericks play the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a Southern Carolina 3A challenge, on Friday, January 18. Marvin Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 52-38 league win over Monroe (Monroe, NC).
