Tennessee High School Basketball - Potter's House Christian prevails Ridgeway
January 16, 2011: Memphis, TN 38119 Potter's House Christian Lions (Jacksonville, FL) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Ridgeway Roadrunners (Memphis, TN), 85-69 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Potter's House Christian upgrades its record to 21-1 on the season. The Lions travel to Memphis Central (Memphis, TN) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Monday, January 17. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 9-6.
Next up, the Roadrunners play the Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights (St. Louis, MO) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 17. Ridgeway will attempt to upgrade on its 11-2 season record. The Red Knights go into the bout with a 11-3 record after their 43-42 non-league loss to Blue Springs (Blue Springs, MO).
First Quarter
The Lady Lions opened the game with a 25-16 first quarter to take a 9 point lead into the second period. Antoinette Bannister led the way scoring 9 points including two long range three's.
Second Quarter
In the second perid Ridgeway's Hasina Muhammad got on track and propelled her team with 12 points to cut The Potter's House lead to eight going into the half.
Third Quarter
In the third period both teams traded Blows and put up 14 points each to keep the defecit the same heading to the final period.
Fourth Quarter
In the final period Antoinette Bannister went on a tear and scored 16 of The Potter's House 26 points in the quarter to seal the game with a 85-69 victoery over a very tough Ridgeway squad.
