The Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Palestine Wildcats (Palestine, TX), 56-51 in Friday's league test.

The Black Cats (20-8) will now prepare for their test against Madisonville (Madisonville, TX). The Mustangs go into the 4A Region III District 18 test with a 11-4 record. In their last test, Madisonville got by Groesbeck (Groesbeck, TX), 62-57, in a league test.
