Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC) and the visiting A.L. Brown Wonders (Kannapolis, NC), saw Northwest Cabarrus's basketball squad knock off A.L. Brown by a count of 64-49.

With the victory, Northwest Cabarrus upgrades its record to 7-6 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Central Cabarrus (Concord, NC) to play the Vikings in a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Friday, January 8. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 6-6. Central Cabarrus won 67-39 in their recent league challenge against East Rowan (Salisbury, NC)

Next up, the Wonders play the West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC) in a Mecka 4A challenge, on Friday, January 8. A.L. Brown will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 63-59 league loss to Hough (Cornelius, NC).
