Piedmont Highlanders (Piedmont, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting San Lorenzo Rebels (San Lorenzo, CA), 12-5 in a league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Moreau Catholic for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 20. Piedmont will battle a Mariners squad coming off a 9-4 league loss to Washington (Fremont, CA). The Mariners record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, San Lorenzo falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Rebels host Acalanes (Lafayette, CA) to battle the Dons in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 20. The Dons enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. Acalanes won 14-3 in their recent league challenge against Miramonte (Orinda, CA)
