Twelve players scored for Bend High on Friday night as the Lava Bears routed visiting Eagle Point 65-13 in a nonleague girls basketball game.
Mekayla Isaak posted a game-high 15 points and Katelyn Tolentino added eight for Bend, which was playing its season opener.
“I liked our energy,” Lava Bear coach Todd Ervin said. “For a lot of kids, it was their varsity debut or first varsity game with a lot of minutes. With that in mind, it was a good night.”
Bend (1-0) ran away with the game in the first quarter, taking a 20-4 lead before the second period. The Bears held Eagle Point to just five field goals while hitting 26 of their own.
