The Merkel Badgers basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the visiting Early Longhorns to 39 in the Badgers non-league victory on Friday.

The Badgers now sport a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dublin for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 2.

The Longhorns (4-9) will now prepare for their contest against Colorado (Colorado City, TX). The Wolves come into the non-league contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, Colorado was routed by Lamesa (Lamesa, TX), 70-66, in a non-league contest.
