Virginia High School Basketball - Saint John Paul the Great Catholic topped by Bishop Ireton
January 26, 2019: Dumfries, VA 22026 The Bishop Ireton Cardinals basketball team scored 72 points and restricted the host Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves to 53 in the Cardinals non-league victory on Saturday.
The Cardinals now sport a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host The Heights for a Washington Catholic contest on Tuesday, January 29. Bishop Ireton will battle a team coming off a 85-50 league loss to Paul VI (Fairfax, VA). The record now stands at 0-15.
The Wolves (12-7) will now prepare for their contest against Veritas School (Richmond, VA). The Lions come into the non-league contest with a 6-10 record. In their last contest, Veritas School was defeated by Trinity at Meadow View (Falls Church, VA), 51-50, in a non-league contest.
