California High School Soccer - Santiago held off by Redondo
December 12, 2009: Redondo Beach, CA 90277 The Redondo Sea Hawks tipped the visiting Santiago Sharks soccer squad by a margin of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league match.
The Sea Hawks now hold a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Torrance for a non-league match on Wednesday, December 16. Redondo will encounter a Tartars squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Palos Verdes (Palos Verdes Estates, CA). The Tartars record now stands at 5-3.
The Sharks (3-1) will now prepare for their test against El Toro (Lake Forest, CA). The Chargers enter the non-league test with a 1-0 record. In their last test, El Toro tipped Edison (Huntington Beach, CA), 4-1, in a non-league test.
First Half
Sharks give up early PK in first ten minutes of rain soaked half.
Second Half
Field conditions remain unplayable as most of the field is under water and puddles everywhere. Sharks manage late goal but the damage was already done as Redondo was able to get an earlier second goal and hold on to the 2-1 win.
