North Carolina High School Basketball - Freedom over Foard

January 20, 2017: Newton, NC 28658

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) and the host Foard Tigers (Newton, NC), saw Freedom's basketball squad overcome Foard by a tally of 63-45.

With the victory, Freedom improves its record to 16-1 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Hickory (Hickory, NC) to confront the Red Tornadoes in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Red Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 10-5. Hickory won 49-41 in their recent non-league challenge against R.J. Reynolds (Winston-Salem, NC)

Next up, the Tigers confront the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Foard will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 6-11 record after their 70-58 league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC).
