The Central Lions (Hayneville, AL) basketball nipped the visiting Lanier Poets (Montgomery, AL), 81-74 in Monday's non-league test.

The Lions (4-2) will now prepare for their test against Wilcox Central (Camden, AL). The Jaguars go into the non-league test with a 9-1 record. In their last test, Wilcox Central got by Calhoun (Letohatchee, AL), 84-41, in a non-league test.
