The New Summerfield Hornets (New Summerfield, TX) basketball knocked off the visiting Cushing Bearkats (Cushing, TX), 50-34 in Friday's league test.

The Hornets (14-7) will now prepare for their test against Carlisle (Price, TX). The Indians go into the 1A-1 Region III District 21 test with a 2-3 record.

The Bearkats now own a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they host Overton for a 1A-1 Region III District 21 bout on Tuesday, January 10. Cushing will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 51-26 non-league win over Fruitvale (Fruitvale, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 15-3.
