Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] Bears (Appalachia, VA) and the visiting Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA), saw Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley]'s basketball squad knock off Battle by a count of 52-37.

With the victory, Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] upgrades its record to 8-11 on the campaign. The Bears host Richlands (Richlands, VA) to play the Blue Tornado in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 4. The Blue Tornado come into the challenge with a record of 5-10.
