In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Stone Cougars (Waldorf, MD) basketball squad beat the host La Plata Warriors (La Plata, MD), by a count of 71-60.

The Cougars (9-2) will now prepare for their outing against Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD). The Hurricanes go into the non-league outing with a 5-6 record. In their last outing, Huntingtown defeated Patuxent (Lusby, MD), 70-33, in a league outing.

The Warriors now hold a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to McDonough for a Southern Maryland outing on Friday, January 19. La Plata will clash with a Rams squad coming off a 74-47 league loss to Westlake (Waldorf, MD). The Rams record now stands at 1-7.
