Delaware High School Basketball - St. Elizabeth routs Tower Hill
January 19, 2010: Wilmington, DE 19805 In Tuesday's non-league outing, the St. Elizabeth Vikings (Wilmington, DE) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Tower Hill Hillers (Wilmington, DE), by a margin of 77-35.
The Vikings (6-3) will now prepare for their outing against Archmere Academy (Claymont, DE). The Auks go into the Diamond State outing with a 8-2 record.
The Hillers now own a 1-10 record. They take the field next when they host Sanford for a Independent Schools outing on Saturday, January 30.
First Quarter
Craig Napier of St.E's scored 9 points and had 4 steals as did Tim Massado to lead St. E's defense to a 22 to 0 first quarter lead.
Second Quarter
St. E's Andre Patton have 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals to support the stellar defensive effort of the Vikings to a 26 point halftime lead despite the fact that all 13 Vikings played in this half.
Third Quarter
Senior captain Will Harmon of St. E's scored 14 of his 23 points and had 6 of his 8 rebounds to lead the Vikings 69-33 3rd quarter lead forging the mercy rule.
Fourth Quarter
Junior point guard Matt Modica had 5 assists and Junior Ray Piekarski had 4 points to lead the St. E's bench to outscore the Hiller's starters 8-2 in a mercy rule 4th quarter.
