Texas High School Basketball - Albany nudges Stamford

Albany Lions (Albany, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Stamford Bulldogs (Stamford, TX), 59-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Albany upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Lions travel to Roscoe (Roscoe, TX) to clash with the Plowboys in a 2A Region I District 7 bout on Friday, January 29. The Plowboys go into the bout with a record of 3-8. Roscoe won 62-41 in their recent league bout against Winters (Winters, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Hawley Bearcats (Hawley, TX) in a 2A Region I District 7 bout, on Friday, January 29. Stamford will attempt to upgrade on its 19-7 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 18-4 record after their 51-40 league win over Hamlin (Hamlin, TX).
