North Carolina High School Basketball - Hopewell nudges Mallard Creek

Hopewell Titans (Huntersville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC), 50-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Hopewell upgrades its record to 18-2 on the season. The Titans host Vance (Charlotte, NC) to encounter the Cougars in a 4A Conference 13 bout on Tuesday, February 8. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 3-15.

Next up, the Mavericks battle the West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC) in a 4A Conference 13 challenge, on Tuesday, February 8. Mallard Creek will attempt to improve on its 18-4 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 4-16 record after their 53-46 league loss to Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC).
