California High School Baseball - Morningside loses to Notre Dame
March 18, 2009: Inglewood, CA 90303 The Notre Dame Knights baseball team scored 8 points and limited the host Morningside Monarchs to 0 in the Knights non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Knights (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Canyon (Canyon Country, CA). The Cowboys go into the non-league match with a 1-5 record. In their last match, Canyon was overwhelmed by Golden Valley (Santa Clarita, CA), 5-2, in a league match.
The Monarchs (4-6) will now prepare for their match against Firebaugh (Lynwood, CA). The Falcons go into the non-league match with a 4-3 record.
Game Summary
Notre Dame scored in one run in the first when lead off batter Casey Ryan reached on a single, moved over on a Kelly Dugan single, and crossed the plate on a passed ball. They added two in the second off the bat of Tim Reigel, a two run homer to deep left center, scoring Ranny Lowe who had reached on a single, and stole second base. There were three more in the 3rd, two credited to Pedro Aldapes single and one to Eric Walbridges double with a man on. The Knights scored one run in the 4th and 5th to total 8.
