Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cave Spring Knights (Roanoke, VA), 53-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Fleming upgrades its record to 11-3 on the season. The Colonels travel to Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA) to clash with the Wildcats in a 3A Conference 31 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Rockbridge County won 45-41 in their recent non-league bout against McCluer (Buena Vista, VA)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Lord Botetourt Cavaliers (Daleville, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Cave Spring will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 54-36 non-league loss to Cave Spring (Roanoke, VA).
