New Jersey High School Basketball - St. Anthony holds off Eastside
January 4, 2009: Paterson, NJ 07501 St. Anthony Friars (Jersey City, NJ) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Eastside Ghosts (Paterson, NJ), 57-54 in a non-league bout.
With the win, St. Anthony upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Friars host Colonia (Colonia, NJ) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 7. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 5-1. Colonia won 57-32 in their recent league bout against New Brunswick (New Brunswick, NJ)
Next up, the Ghosts play the Clifton Mustangs (Clifton, NJ) in a NNJIL B bout, on Tuesday, January 6. Eastside will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 71-68 non-league loss to West Orange (West Orange, NJ).
