The Vernon Lions basketball team (Vernon, TX), was toppled 59-49 in Monday's non-league battle with the host Rider Raiders (Wichita Falls, TX)

The Raiders now possess a 6-7 record. They play next when they host Ryan for a 4A Region I District 4 battle on Saturday, December 31. Rider will battle a Raiders team coming off a 56-53 non-league win over Creekview (Carrollton, TX). The Raiders record now stands at 6-5.

The Lions (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Decatur (Decatur, TX). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 8-4 record. In their last contest, Decatur was defeated by Peaster (Peaster, TX), 38-32, in a non-league contest.
