Game Summary
The Chargers began play in the Rivals Cup Tournament at Peotone against the Oak Forest Bengals. The Bengals controlled the ball early and found the net about 8 minutes in to take the 1-0 lead. Late in half, the Chargers earned a spot kick, however, the attempt missed and the Bengals were able to keep the 1-0 lead at the half. The Chargers looked a bit slow to start the second half, but picked up their intensity and had some good opportunities, but could not convert. Charger keeper Ethan Ward was strong in the net for the Chargers, turning away several Bengal shots. The Chargers defense did an exceptional job pressuring the Bengal attackers on their shots. The Bengals added a second goal later in the half and the Chargers had a narrow miss off the crossbar in the final minute. The Chargers are now 8-6-1 on the season.
