September 23, 2005: Lakeland, FL 33813 Durant Cougars (Plant City, FL) fans were pleased Friday as they witnessed their football team notch a victory over the host Jenkins Eagles (Lakeland, FL), 36-13 in a non-league game.
The Cougars (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Sarasota (Sarasota, FL). The Sailors enter the 6A District 6 game with a 4-1 record. In their last game, Sarasota lost by Manatee (Sarasota, FL), 40-19, in a non-league game.
With the loss, Jenkins falls to 0-5 on the season. The Eagles travel to Osceola (Kissimmee, FL) to meet the Kowboys in a 5A District 8 game on Friday, September 30. The Kowboys enter the game with a record of 0-4. Osceola lost 37-17 in their recent non-league game against Edgewater (Orlando, FL)
