California High School Baseball - Capistrano Valley holds off Tesoro
March 18, 2011: Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688 Spectators at Friday's league battle between the Capistrano Valley Cougars (Mission Viejo, CA) and the host Tesoro Titans (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA), saw Capistrano Valley's baseball squad knock off Tesoro by a count of 9-5.
Coming up next, the Cougars play the El Toro Chargers (Lake Forest, CA) in a South Coast battle, on Friday, March 25. Capistrano Valley will attempt to move on its 3-3 season record.
The Titans now possess a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Aliso Niguel for a non-league battle on Tuesday, March 22. Tesoro will play a Wolverines squad coming off a 7-3 league loss to Trabuco Hills (Mission Viejo, CA). The Wolverines record now stands at 4-2.
Game Summary
The lower third of the Cougar line-up came up very large with five hits and four rbi's along with the lone extra base-hits of a double and triple in the big fifth inning. Centerfield was never played better than it was today.
