Northwest Indians (Canal Fulton, OH) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Marlington Dukes (Alliance, OH), 65-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Northwest upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Alliance (Alliance, OH) to play the Aviators in a Northeastern Buckeye bout on Tuesday, February 1. The Aviators come into the bout with a record of 7-6. Alliance won 69-55 in their recent league bout against Louisville (Louisville, OH)

Next up, the Dukes play the West Branch Warriors (Beloit, OH) in a Northeastern Buckeye bout, on Tuesday, February 1. Marlington will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 62-39 league loss to Carrollton (Carrollton, OH).
