Texas High School Softball - Gonzales holds off Montwood
March 12, 2015: El Paso, TX 79936 Gonzales Apaches (Gonzales, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Montwood Rams (El Paso, TX), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Apaches now own a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Monterey for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 12. Gonzales will battle a Plainsmen squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Plainview (Plainview, TX). The Plainsmen record now stands at 1-5.
With the loss, Montwood falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Rams host Americas (El Paso, TX) to battle the Trail Blazers in a 6A Region I District 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 17. The Trail Blazers enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Americas lost 18-8 in their recent league challenge against Eastwood (El Paso, TX)
