November 29, 2012: Wildomar, CA 92595 In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Elsinore Tigers soccer squad scored a close 5-2 triumph over the Valley Center Jaguars.
The Tigers (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Murrieta Mesa (Murrieta, CA). The Rams come into the non-league battle with a 0-2 record.
The Jaguars (0-1) will now prepare for their battle against Mar Vista (Imperial Beach, CA). The Mariners come into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Mar Vista nudged Olympian (Chula Vista, CA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
Game Summary
Michael Allen started the scoring in the 8th minute for Elsinore on a penalty kick following a hand ball in the box. Leonel Ambriz followed at 20 minutes on an assist from Juan Figueroa. Shortly after Joseph Monzon put Valley Center on the board. Nick Perea notched his second goal of the season in the 31st minute. After halftime Leonel Ambriz scored his second goal of the game on a pass from Guillermo Muniz in the 52nd minute. Elsinore scored one more time in the 68th minute when Derek Brown converted on a pass from Michael Allen. Anthony Cozzi of Valley Center finished the scoring on a strong free kick that bounced off the Elsinore wall and into the goal. The match was well played and both teams worked to position themselves with strong passing, quick runs and teamwork. The Elsinore defense was able to bend and hold fast against an aggressive fast paced Valley Center front line attack.
