In Friday's non-league game, the Piedmont Hills Pirates (San Jose, CA) football team were victorious over the host Gilroy Mustangs (Gilroy, CA), by a score of 40-17.

The Pirates (2-1) will now prepare for their game against Pioneer (San Jose, CA). The Mustangs come into the Mount Hamilton game with a 2-1 record. In their last game, Pioneer knocked off Terra Nova (Pacifica, CA), 40-29, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Mustangs encounter the Watsonville Wildcatz (Watsonville, CA) in a Monterey Bay - Pacific contest, on Friday, October 3. Gilroy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Wildcatz go into the contest with a 1-3 record after their 27-21 non-league loss to San Lorenzo Valley (Felton, CA).
