New York High School Basketball - Nichols nips Allegany-Limestone
February 4, 2017: Allegany, NY 14706 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Nichols Vikings (Buffalo, NY) and the host Allegany-Limestone Gators (Allegany, NY), saw Nichols's basketball squad hold off Allegany-Limestone by a tally of 58-52.
With the victory, Nichols improves its record to 8-9 on the campaign. The Vikings host St. Francis (Athol Springs, NY) to play the Red Raiders in a Monsignor Martin challenge on Monday, February 6. The Red Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 15-4. St. Francis won 79-47 in their recent league challenge against Archbishop Walsh (Olean, NY)
Next up, the Gators play the Salamanca Warriors (Salamanca, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - I East challenge, on Monday, February 6. Allegany-Limestone will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 13-4 record after their 57-51 league win over Portville (Portville, NY).
