Indiana High School Soccer - Vincennes Rivet nudges West Vigo
August 30, 2018: West Terre Haute, IN 47885 The Vincennes Rivet Patriots (Vincennes, IN) soccer nudged the host West Vigo Vikings (West Terre Haute, IN), 5-4 in Thursday's non-league bout.
With the win, Vincennes Rivet moves its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Northeast Dubois (Dubois, IN) to battle the Jeeps in a Blue Chip bout on Friday, September 7. The Jeeps go into the bout with a record of 4-1.
In their next game, the Vikings battle the North Putnam Cougars (Roachdale, IN) in a Western Indiana-West bout, on Tuesday, September 4. West Vigo will attempt to move on its 1-3 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 1-1 non-league Southmont (Crawfordsville, IN).
Game Summary
Rivet boys escaped the West Vigo game with a 5-4 win. Vincennes wasn’t ready to play and after 4’ West Vigo had already taken a 2-0 lead. Luckily Colten Mouzin was here to play. He scored at the 13’ of a pass from Cameron Klein and tie the game at the 22’ with a header of a Cedric Schleiss corner. James Hancock gave River the lead at the 24’. Colten had his hat trick before half time of another pass from Cameron. The half time didn’t help Rivet as West Vigo scored to back to back goal in the first 5’. Fortunately for Rivet Mouzin wasn’t done and he score the winning goal at the 65’.
