Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ) and the host Basha Bears (Chandler, AZ), saw Mountain Ridge's basketball squad hold off Basha by a score of 46-40.

With the victory, Mountain Ridge improves its record to 3-9 on the campaign. The Mountain Lions travel to Valley Vista (Surprise, AZ) to play the Monsoon in a 5A Northwest challenge on Friday, January 7. The Monsoon come into the challenge with a record of 0-9.

Next up, the Bears play the Highland Hawks (Gilbert, AZ) in a 5A Central challenge, on Tuesday, January 4. Basha will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 57-55 non-league loss to Chaparral (Temecula, CA).
