Illinois High School Basketball - Gibault Catholic overwhelms Mater Dei
January 6, 2011: Breese, IL 62230 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL) and the host Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL), saw Gibault Catholic's basketball squad trounce Mater Dei by a score of 91-22.
With the victory, Gibault Catholic improves its record to 4-8 on the campaign. The host Valmeyer (Valmeyer, IL) to play the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 10. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 1-7. Valmeyer lost 56-29 in their recent league challenge against Marissa/Coulterville (Marissa, IL)
Next up, the Knights play the St. Anthony Bulldogs (Effingham, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 8. Mater Dei will attempt to improve on its 14-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 5-6 record after their 47-44 non-league loss to Newton (Newton, IL).
