Arizona High School Softball - Northwest Christian bounces Cortez
March 6, 2009: Phoenix, AZ 85051 Northwest Christian Crusaders (Phoenix, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Cortez Colts (Phoenix, AZ), 15-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Crusaders now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Window Rock for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 7. Northwest Christian will battle a Fighting Scouts squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Round Valley (Eagar, AZ). The Fighting Scouts record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Cortez falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Colts travel to Desert Edge (Goodyear, AZ) to battle the Scorpions in a 4A Skyline challenge on Tuesday, March 10. The Scorpions enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Desert Edge won 11-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Shadow Mountain (Phoenix, AZ)
