Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Morris Redskins (Morris, IL), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Golden Warriors now own a 14-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Geneseo for a Northern Illinois Big 12 - East challenge on Monday, April 30. Sterling will battle a Maple Leafs squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Ottawa (Ottawa, IL). The Maple Leafs record now stands at 14-6.

With the loss, Morris falls to 13-11 on the campaign. The Redskins host Geneseo (Geneseo, IL) to battle the Maple Leafs in a Northern Illinois Big 12 - East challenge on Tuesday, May 1. The Maple Leafs enter the challenge with a record of 14-6.
