Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Northside Vikings (Lafayette, LA), 65-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Westgate upgrades its record to 19-7 on the campaign. The Tigers host St. Thomas More (Lafayette, LA) to play the Cougars in a 4A District 4 bout on Saturday, February 17. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 21-9. St. Thomas More won 59-55 in their recent league bout against Rayne (Rayne, LA)
