May 12, 2012: Greeley, CO 80634 The Coronado Cougars got by the host Northridge Grizzlies baseball team by a count of 3-2 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Cougars now possess a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Longmont for a non-league bout on Saturday, May 12. Coronado will face a Trojans team coming off a 4-3 league win over Thompson Valley (Loveland, CO). The Trojans record now stands at 13-6.
Game Summary
Drew MacMillan pitched a complete game and drove in two runs as #27 Coronado beat #6 Northridge, 3-2. David Feuerbach also had two hits for the Cougars.
Northridge ended their season on a very disapointing loss to Coronado by the score of 3 - 2. Northridge left 8 men on base and could never get a key hit to score runs. Brad Marx went 2 for 3 and kept his school record hitting streak going at 20 games. Robert Fulton was 2 for 4 at the plate. Garrad Martinez pitched his best game of the year going all 7 innings giving up 6 hits and only 1 earned run. Garrad also was 1 for 2 at the plate and had a RBI. Northridge finishes the season with an overall record of 13 - 7 and the 4A Tri-Valley League Champions. Northridge losses 4 seniors off their squad and will return 11 letterman next year.
