Texas High School Basketball - Wagner holds off Steele
February 2, 2016: Cibolo, TX 78108 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wagner Thunderbirds (San Antonio, TX) and the host Steele Knights (Cibolo, TX), saw Wagner's basketball squad hold off Steele by a tally of 51-48.
With the victory, Wagner improves its record to 14-11 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Canyon (New Braunfels, TX) to confront the Cougars in a 6A Region IV District 25 challenge on Friday, February 5. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 10-17. Canyon won 57-39 in their recent league challenge against Clemens (Schertz, TX)
Next up, the Knights confront the New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 25 challenge, on Friday, February 5. Steele will attempt to improve on its 30-2 season record. The Unicorns come into the challenge with a 6-20 record after their 63-27 league loss to Judson (Converse, TX).
