California High School Baseball - Irvington loses to Washington
May 14, 2014: Fremont, CA 94538 The Washington Huskies crushed the host Irvington Vikings baseball team by a count of 11-1 in Wednesday's league bout.
The Huskies now possess a 14-9 record. They take the field next when they host Mission San Jose for a Mission Valley bout on Friday, May 16. Washington will face a Warriors team coming off a 6-4 league loss to James Logan (Union City, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 4-19.
Next, the Vikings face the Newark Memorial Cougars (Newark, CA) in a Mission Valley bout, on Friday, May 16. Irvington will attempt to move on its 12-10 season record. The Cougars enter the bout with a 16-7 record after their 2-0 league loss to Kennedy (Fremont, CA).
Game Summary
The Washington Huskies pounded out 13 hits enroute to a 11-1 victory over the host Irvington Vikings.
Zac Wallace pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, scattering three hits and two walks while striking out five. He also had stellar defensive support as Washington turned two double plays and had spectacular outfield play from Steven Kwan and Alex Perales.
At the plate the Huskies was paced by Brian Knight, Kwan, and Nick Lawrence who had three RBI's a piece. Knight and Kyle Williams each went 3 for 4, Kwan (two doubles) and Wallace contributed two hits a piece, while Kyle Emery and Alex Perales collected base knocks to round out the offensive attack.
