December 19, 2017: Monticello, AR 71655 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Ashdown Panthers (Ashdown, AR) and the host Monticello Billies (Monticello, AR), saw Ashdown's basketball squad overcome Monticello by a tally of 53-44.
With the victory, Ashdown improves its record to 5-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Arkansas (Texarkana, AR) to play the Razorbacks in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 22. The Razorbacks come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Arkansas won 66-39 in their recent league challenge against Hope (Hope, AR)
Next up, the Billies play the Junction City Dragons (Junction City, AR) in a 3A Region 8 challenge, on Thursday, December 21. Monticello will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record. The Dragons come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 52-49 non-league loss to Crossett (Crossett, AR).
