With the defeat, Knight falls to 1-8 on the season. The Hawks host Hesperia (Hesperia, CA) to encounter the Scorpions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 22. The Scorpions come into the challenge with a record of 1-7.
Game Summary
Vasquez High School Mustangs played Pete Knight at Sisco Field and came away with a 4 - 3 victory. The Mustangs received an outstanding pitching performance from senior righthander Josh Gamboa. Josh pitched 6 2/3 innings, striking out 7, giving up only 4 hits on the day. Josh was able to keep the Pete Knight hitting in check all day only allowing 3 unearned runs. Jacob Musial closed out the game in the seventh with the tieing run on base, getting the last out and the save. The offense was led by Bobby Aguliar who had a bases loaded triple in the second, and was driven in by Garrett Berry with an RBI ground out. Nik Dene added 2 hits.
