The Bertie Falcons (Windsor, NC) basketball nipped the host Riverside Knights (Williamston, NC), 54-51 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Falcons (8-6) will now prepare for their test against Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC). The Panthers go into the Northeastern Coastal 2A test with a 3-8 record. In their last test, Pasquotank County was tipped by John A. Holmes (Edenton, NC), 66-26, in a non-league test.

The Knights now own a 7-5 record. They play next when they travel to Pamlico County for a Coastal Plains 1A test on Friday, January 18. Riverside will encounter a Hurricanes squad coming off a 69-62 non-league loss to Havelock (Havelock, NC). The Hurricanes record now stands at 4-4.
