The Montgomery Cougars football team (Skillman, NJ), was knocked off 34-20 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Linden Tigers (Linden, NJ)

The Tigers (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Westfield (Westfield, NJ). The Blue Devils come into the Mid-State 38 - Watchung challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Westfield knocked off Scotch Plains-Fanwood (Scotch Plains, NJ), 26-6, in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ridge for a Mid-State 38 - Watchung challenge on Thursday, October 2. Montgomery will meet a Red Devil team coming off a 51-48 league loss to Scotch Plains-Fanwood (Scotch Plains, NJ). The Red Devil record now stands at 1-2.
