The Countryside Cougars basketball team scored 73 points and restricted the host Tarpon Springs Spongers to 50 in the Cougars non-league victory on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 5-4 record. They play next when they travel to Sunlake for a non-league contest on Monday, December 22. Countryside will meet a Seahawks team coming off a 44-43 league loss to Gulf (New Port Richey, FL). The Seahawks record now stands at 1-8.

The Spongers (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Wiregrass Ranch (Wesley Chapel, FL). The Bulls come into the non-league contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Wiregrass Ranch was routed by Nature Coast Tech (Brooksville, FL), 52-43, in a league contest.
