Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Perry Pumas (Gilbert, AZ) and the visiting Red Mountain Mountain Lions (Mesa, AZ), saw Perry's basketball squad hold off Red Mountain by a tally of 45-43.

With the victory, Perry improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Pumas travel to Desert Vista (Phoenix, AZ) to confront the Thunder in a I Section I challenge on Friday, January 15. The Thunder come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. Desert Vista lost 62-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Mountain Ridge (Glendale, AZ)

Next up, the Mountain Lions confront the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) in a I Section III challenge, on Friday, January 15. Red Mountain will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The Firebirds come into the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 59-47 non-league loss to Basha (Chandler, AZ).
