In Friday's non-league outing, the Brandon Valley Lynx (Brandon, SD) basketball squad overwhelmed the host Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD), by a margin of 59-37.

The Lynx (12-2) will now prepare for their outing against Riggs (Pierre, SD). The Governors go into the non-league outing with a 5-5 record. In their last outing, Riggs smashed Aberdeen Central (Aberdeen, SD), 65-63, in a league outing.

The Kernels now own a 1-12 record. They play next when they host Huron for a AA District 3 outing on Tuesday, January 31. Mitchell will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 67-55 non-league win over Harrisburg (Harrisburg, SD). The Tigers record now stands at 7-5.
