Tennessee High School Softball - Rhea County bounces Brentwood
April 12, 2014: Evensville, TN 37332 The Rhea County Golden Eagles (Evensville, TN) softball routed the visiting Brentwood Bruins (Brentwood, TN), 10-2 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Golden Eagles (2-2) will now prepare for their bout against Stone Memorial (Crossville, TN). The Panthers go into the non-league bout with a 1-1 record.
The Bruins now possess a 7-12 record. They play next when they host Summit for a AAA District 11 bout on Tuesday, April 15. Brentwood will confront a Spartans squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Dickson County (Dickson, TN). The Spartans record now stands at 1-3.
Game Summary
Brentwood was ousted by Rhea County in the Hit for Hopes tournament elimination game. BHS struggled in the field and to score runs, dropping the tournament game to Rhea County 10-2. Katie Brazil had a 2 hit game while Frankie Cable added an RBI single in the 1st and added an RBI in the 4th. Abi Slaight and Mary Faye Pickard added a hit each in the losing effort. BHS is now 7-12 and will come home to finish their district schedule at home vs. Summit High School.
